Job Summary
The UCSF Department of Neurology is looking for a candidate with
great communication and financial research administration skills,
and a collaborative team member with a great attitude to join our
high-performing Financial Team. The incumbent will manage complex
financial portfolios to provide outstanding support for our
Principal Investigators (PIs). We are looking for someone to
independently manage research awards and transactions related to
contract and grant management, including reports for approval by
managers and Authorized Organizational Representatives. The
portfolio may include multiple PI awards, program project grants,
and awards with multiple subcontracts to domestic and foreign
institutions. Candidate must have experience analyzing revenue and
expenses against budgets, developing projections, and producing
financial reports to manage projects strategically and in
compliance with all applicable guidelines. To see the salary range

roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide,
however, a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% - 120%

Department Description
The mission of the Department of Neurology at UCSF is to deliver
superb patient care, to apply state-of-the-art translational
research methods to discover the causes of and treatments for human
nervous system disorders, and to educate each generation of medical
students, neurology residents, and postdoctoral fellows. By
fostering cross-disciplinary interactions among scientists around
the world, it accelerates the pace of discovery and champions the
University's global health initiatives. The Department of Neurology
is the second-largest department at UCSF, with an annual operating
budget of over $150M. It is the number one recipient of NIH funds
among neurology departments of U.S. medical schools, and its
services are ranked third in California among hospitals that offer
neurology and neurosurgery services.
The Department of Neurology is a teaching, research, and clinical
care unit within the School of Medicine (SOM). The Department of
Neurology is a large, multi-site department, with locations
including Mission Bay, Parnassus, Mt. Zion, ZSFG, VAMC, and the
Gladstone Institutes and is affiliated with the UCSF Weill
Institute for Neurosciences. The department is constructed of 14
administrative divisions with 11 clinical specialties. The
department has over 230 faculty and academic employees, 260 staff
positions, and 150 trainees including residents (46), clinical
fellows (37), and postdoctoral scholars (70).
