Job SummaryThe Marketing Strategist at NEA is responsible for tracking and making meaning out of audience engagement metrics and developing and implementing a comprehensive marketing strategy to deepen engagement and reach new audiences. The Marketing Strategist is a full time (40 hours per week) position reporting to the Director of Communications & Marketing. This position is currently remote. When Marin County COVID-19 safety protocols allow, this position will be located in our Novato office. Remote work may be considered for exceptional candidates.
Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze current NEA audience engagement metrics to establish benchmarks
  • Identify NEA audience subsets/personas based on behavior, pain points, demographics, etc. and recommend segmentation strategy
  • Identify specific channels and campaigns to reach healthcare providers (HCPs)
  • Establish comprehensive dashboard to report and compare across NEA channels, platforms and programs
  • Devise and evaluate methods for collecting data (surveys, polls, focus groups)
  • Interpret data, formulate reports and make recommendations to NEA teams
  • Track market trends and implement best practices
  • Analyze and report on KPIs like conversion rates, website traffic and social media engagement
  • Track email campaign metrics (delivery, open, click-through rates) and make recommendations in terms of cadence and content
  • Oversee advertising budget and establish mix of approaches for specific programs and initiatives, measure performance and ROI
  • Oversee Google Grant Adwords campaign(s) to ensure effectiveness and adjust in real time
  • Evaluate reach and ROI of NEA Magazine and recommend improvements
  • Recommend website and campaign optimizations and cross-marketing opportunities
  • Create an overall marketing plan based on data that incorporates specific strategies to meet specific program goals and reach specific audiences
    Professional Experience and Qualifications
    • Expertise in Google Analytics as well as email and social metrics tools
    • Deep knowledge of data collection methods (polls, focus groups, surveys etc) and experience implementing and synthesizing data
    • Familiarity with Salesforce (or other CRM), Pardot, WordPress and Adobe Creative Cloud
    • Exceptional project management skills, including the ability to set priorities, coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and meet firm deadlines and budgets
    • Proven ability to work independently without close oversight, but also as a team player who productively engages with the internal NEA team, as well as external stakeholders, as needed
    • Flexibility and sense of humor
    • Bachelor's degree plus at least seven years of marketing, especially in a nonprofit and/or medical field
    • Knowledge of eczema and a passion for empowering patient and caregiver audience
