Job Description:
Job Description We are looking for an emergent/experienced
technical contributor in high energy laser beam control, to join us
in our mission to equip the warfighter with multiple, capable, and
affordable directed energy weapons. The Department of War has made
Scaled Directed Energy (SCADE) a key R&D initiative, and in
this position, you will join the growing Lockheed Martin team at
work to support it. You will serve as a key member of the technical
staff for beam control. Here, you will lead and work within
Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to design, develop, integrate,
test, and deliver the beam control apparatus that lies at the very
heart of a laser weapon system, and support its integration into
the host weapon platform. You’ll be assigned to a range of
contracted programs and internally-funded innovation and growth
initiatives. The ideal candidate is a results-oriented,
cross-disciplinary, and innovative electro-optical systems designer
and developer who can integrate optical, mechanical, electronic,
and software elements into an effective, affordable, and
delivered-on-time beam control solution. Basic Qualifications •
Hands-on experience in the development of high energy laser beam
control systems or electro-optical systems of related complexity. •
Experience with developing engineering documents, e.g.
specifications, vendor RFQs, proposal technical volumes, drawings,
briefings, assembly work instructions, contract deliverables, and
test plans/procedures. • Strong oral and written communications
skills • Ability and willingness to travel to support on-site
integration and test of laser weapon systems incorporating our beam
control solutions. • Bachelor's degree in a technical field
relevant to laser weapon beam control. • US Citizenship with the
ability to obtain & maintain a Top Secret clearance. Desired skills
• Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in a technical field relevant to high
energy laser weapon beam control. • Possession of a Top Secret
clearance with an investigation or Continuous Vetting (CV) date
within 5 years • A track record of innovation demonstrated by
technical publications, patents, and project accomplishments. •
Recent operational experience with a range of contemporary digital
tools and collaborative/shared workspace environments, such as
MATLAB, ZEMAX, CodeV, NASTRAN, C/C++, CAMEO, DOORS, MS-TEAMS,
Sharepoint, etc. •Active Top Secret security clearance Lockheed

Ability to work remotely Onsite Full-time: The work associated with
this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed
Martin facility. Work Schedule Information Lockheed Martin supports
a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional
flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40
hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed.
These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time
away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off
benefits. Security Clearance Information This position requires a
government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for
consideration. Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this
position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most
major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland,
Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is
$139,600 - $246,100. For states not referenced above, the salary
range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work
location. Please note that the salary information is a general
guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not
limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's
work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market
and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits

to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for
holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated
based on start date during the calendar year. This position is
incentive plan eligible. Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for
this position in most major metropolitan areas in California,
Massachusetts, and New York is $160,500 - $278,300. For states not
referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect
the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary
