publishing some of the biggest franchises in gaming. This includes
blockbuster titles such as NBA 2K, Borderlands, Bioshock, WWE 2K,
Civilization, XCOM, and more. During that time, we've been

eager to engage with our brands on a deeper level.
Reporting to the Global Digital and Social Marketing Director,
Sports Games, this role is an integral part of the Digital and
Social function, based in the US. Acting as the key advocate for
our flagship title NBA 2K, this role is responsible for bringing
the NBA 2K brand experience to life throughout our digital
ecosystem. This role works directly with Marketing teams across key
functions to influence and guide best in class platform practices
across all NBA 2k owned channels.
Supporting the, CA based, Digital and Social Director, Sports Games
in providing consumer insights at the intersection of hoops
culture, gaming and lifestyle. Work hand and hand with teams to
elevate the brands presence on a global scale, providing
authenticity to the NBA 2k global platforms.
Serving as one of the first consumer touch points, this role is
responsible to keep a pulse on market trends in the digital space.
As a platform expert the need to evaluate the 2k digital ecosystem
is imperative to the success of the team and this role. Analyzing
data, competitive insights and brand health will be needed to
identify efficiencies and best practices across platforms and to
deliver on commercial objectives.
What You Will Do
- Define and execute the global social media strategy for NBA 2K
gaming, including methods to attract new fans, retention, and
engagement from owned and earned channels, balancing global brand
objectives with local territory considerations.
- Manage and execute day-to-day global social activities and
channel engagement, working with internal cross-functional teams,
development teams, and external agencies as needed.
- Foster relations with 2K international social and marketing
leads to adopt our global social strategy for key territories and
help guide their tactical approaches to success.
- Develop creative briefs and help coordinate their way through
the asset production and approval processes.
- Monitor and analyze content performance and social sentiment,
using data tools and insights to inform decisions. Proactively
enhance our strategic plans as a result, escalate potential issues,
and offer solutions to assist with problems.
- Establish and advocate for owned and earned channel best
practices including content strategy and optimization as well as
- Maintain an ongoing content calendar for owned social channels
providing visibility and transparency to global stakeholders.
- Compile and distribute regular social-related metric reports at
primary campaign beats or crisis management, ensuring upwards
visibility, as well as helping inform what metrics are
- Build relations and tightly collaborate with related studio
partners to ensure their constant alignment with our strategic
- Keep a constant finger on the pulse of social media trends in
our industry, entertainment, consumer products, and sports that can
inspire and drive our initiatives.
Who We Think Will Be A Great Fit
We are looking for someone who is a social content strategist at
heart, extremely passionate about content marketing and engagement,
and truly understands how to create content with universal appeal.
They should be someone who has driven global social strategies from
inception to execution. Bonus if your well versed with NBA 2k. They
should be plugged into internet culture, savvy about regional
cultural insights and have first-hand experience collaborating as
part of an international team. This person should be
creatively-driven and able to tell engaging stories though social
content. They should be independent, proactive, and always ideating
ways to enhance what we do to drive engagement and retention, while
having the skillset to logistically execute ideas and effectively
collaborate. This person must have the capacity to understand and
always think about the big picture to make daily decisions that are
aligned with the overall global marketing strategy. This person
must be extremely thorough, detailed oriented, and organized while
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a
- Minimum 8 years of social media or community management
experience for a gaming publisher, developer, entertainment, or
- Experience developing global social strategies informed by
regional insights in collaboration with international
- Skilled with enterprise social publishing tools such as
Sprinklr, Sprout Social, or Social Bakers, and listening tools such
as Synthesio, Talkwalker, Spiketrap, Netbase, etc. Including deep
understanding of social media KPI's and analyzing either on
platform, Google Analytics, or related.
- A social media enthusiast with experience building social
content and followings on, and practical knowledge of, social media
platforms including Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube,
etc. Understanding of Discord, and Reddit is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ideally in a
variety of mediums including long-form and social media. Previous
editorial experience a plus.
- Strong project management skills and high degree of comfort
managing multiple projects.
- Solid understanding of/passion for video games and pop culture
