We are seeking a dedicated candidate to pilot innovative approaches of using Behind-the-Meter (BTM) Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) to transform the way PG&E meets the electric demands of tomorrow. The Integrated Grid Planning (IGP) team develops and implements new distribution planning programs that enable the use and integration of DERs, such as solar PV, battery storage, energy efficiency, demand response, and electric vehicles, into the grid. The team works collaboratively with diverse stakeholders across the enterprise and externally to develop implementation plans for innovation. As part of the Integrated Grid Planning and Innovation team, help us chart the future of the utility and the energy industry.Position SummaryPG&E is seeking an experienced energy business professional to join the Integrated Grid Planning team. This execution-oriented candidate will lead the development of DER contract management processes and play a crucial role in coordinating PG&Es Distributed Energy Resources (DER) related strategy development. The Senior Program Manager will work closely with external stakeholders and across various lines of business including Electric Operations (EO), Customer Care, and Commercial Solicitations to support effective program management. The Senior Program Manager will be responsible for a multi-year pilot that examines alternative sourcing mechanisms for DERs to provide distribution services, per the recent regulatory Decision Adopting Pilots to Test Two Frameworks for Procuring DERs that Avoid or Defer Utility Capital Investments.This position is based out of PG&Es General Office complex in Oakland, although flexible work locations will be considered. Reporting Relationship:The position reports to the Supervisor of Integrated Grid Planning.Core Responsibilities:

• Manage new sourcing mechanisms for DERs to provide distribution service
• Lead PG&Es Partnership Pilot to facilitate the use of BTM DERs to defer planned wires investments
• Manage all key company stakeholders, and oversee development and evaluation milestones with transparency
• Support regulatory activities by writing testimony, submitting reports, responding to data requests, meeting with regulators and other Investor-Owned Utilities (IOUs) representatives, and providing content for regulatory filings
• Coordinate with a cross-functional team to manage DER contracts with third parties
• Provide data to facilitate procurement of DERs and the Evaluation of the Pilot
• Develop Contingency Plans for each stage of DER contract implementationMinimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in Business, Economics, Engineering or related discipline or equivalent years of job-related experience
  • 6+ years of related experience Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Proficient qualitative and quantitative analytical skills
    • Must be adaptable to changing environments and have ability to learn new concepts quickly
    • Able to effectively manage multiple projects with demanding time constraints
    • Ability to influence multi/cross-functional teams in a matrix environment
    • Ability to communicate findings and recommendations to various levels of management
    • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively
    • Proficiency with Excel, Word, and PowerPointDesired Qualifications:
      • Masters in Business Administration or other Advanced Degree
      • Experience in distribution planning or distribution operations
      • Experience with procurement or contract management of DERs
      • Experience with implementing, managing, and evaluating pilots
      • Ability to work within a Regulatory environmentRequired
