working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Peds Med/Surg RN in
San Francisco, California, 94109! Job Title: Pediatric Registered
Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Pediatrics Duration:
13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours (07:00 - 15:30)
Experience: Minimum 2 years in Pediatrics License: Current
Registered Nurse Licensure in California Certifications: BLS, PALS,
ACLS (preferred), APHON (preferred) Must-Have: Critical Care
experience in PICU or IMCU is required. Traveler must be capable of
floating to PICU and NICU. Description: The acute care pediatric
registered nurse is accountable for the assessment, coordination,
delivery, and evaluation of nursing care. Responsibilities include
direct patient care, patient and family education, and transitions
of care in an acute patient setting. The nurse delivers holistic
and individualized care to all patients in an assigned area. They
will develop, implement, and coordinate a plan of care that
incorporates psychological, sociocultural, spiritual, economic, and
lifestyle factors. Collaborative relationships between patients,
their family or support group, physicians, and other healthcare
providers will be fostered and maintained through timely and
effective communication. The nursing care provided includes the
management of dysrhythmias, pediatric early warning scores, and the
care and management of ports and central lines. The nurse will also
perform phlebotomy, administer chemotherapy, manage symptoms, and
handle fractures and ventilator management among other
responsibilities. Additional skills required include the
administration of blood and blood products, starting and
maintaining IVs, and infection prevention and isolation
precautions. Patient age groups include adolescents, infants, and
pediatric patients. Daily census is 6-8 patients with a total of 12
beds available. The nursing staff will have interdisciplinary
support from physical therapy, interpretation services, lift teams,
