Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. 8 years of experience in software development. 7 years of experience building and developing large-scale infrastructure, distributed systems or networks, or experience with compute technologies, storage, or hardware architecture. 5 years of experience with design and architecture; and testing/launching software products. Preferred qualifications: Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms. 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction. 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects. The Data Indexing team provides the canonical data indexing solutions across Google. Our team has a proven track record of success, with a tremendous momentum in delivering robust and efficient indexing infrastructure and applications. We have been instrumental in making our system more resilient to support the strong demanding across Google's products, e.g. supporting Search's AI initiatives, powering Gemini Model training with web/media datasets, providing the indexing solution for crucial products. We are looking for a senior TL to steer the technical direction to transform our web indexing and media indexing systems, and enable the strategic innovations across Google. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $262,000-$365,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities Provide technical leadership on high-impact projects. Influence and coach a distributed team of engineers. Facilitate alignment and clarity across teams on goals, outcomes, and timelines. Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables.
