In this role you will use your exceptional organizational skills to support all research activities and will assume a large variety of operational tasks. You will be the first contact for any Inventory matters or concerns and work with a diverse team. You will be asked to have experience in the following areas: purchasing, maintaining an adequate inventory of research consumables and provide lab support services to the non GxP lab, which include waste management, inventory management and sample management.

Responsibilities including, but not limited to:

  • Support scientists with daily operations in non GxP setting
  • Independently make decisions and uses available resources to meet customer requirements
  • Purchase and receive lab materials based on requests and distribute them accordingly
  • Assist in labeling and general inventory organization
  • Manage general lab material inventory by maintaining cycle counts if necessary
  • Work with ULS specialist to maintain consumables inventory
  • Support sample management and shipping activities
  • Interface with vendors on meeting consumable delivery timelines and backorder replacement
  • Assisting in Covid testing to all employees, accession samples and ship
  • Dispose of biohazardous materials, chemical waste, and other potentially hazardous materials according to regulation if necessary
  • Support all laboratory services work such as autoclaving, dishwashing, and lab restocking
  • Maintain lab cleanliness by performing daily lab walkthrough
  • Work as a member of the lab support team

Technical Requirements & Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 2+ years of previous experience in a scientific laboratory services in a university or biotech environment
  • Experience with purchasing and inventory management
  • Customer-oriented, excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work and with people at all levels in an organization
  • Ability to execute tasks with a high attention to detail and to adjust workload based on priorities
  • Have exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and be proactive with a can-do attitude
  • Knowledge of Stockboss and Oracle is a plus
  • Aseptic technique knowledge and working in a BSL2 lab is a plus
