Position Summary

The ideal candidate should bring experience working in enterprise application environments in life sciences with the ability to manage multiple projects across different functions as a proficient and seasoned Business Systems Analyst, Project Manager, Software Release Manager, and/or Systems Administrator/Technical Lead in the functional areas of Quality and Training. Knowledge and experience with Veeva Quality, Clinical, and/or Regulatory Vault processes is highly desired. Additional Learning Management System knowledge/support (such as, but not limited to, ComplianceWire) is a plus.

The Senior IT Analyst I, Quality/Training/Veeva Vault Platform position is accountable for the continuous improvement and ongoing maintenance and operations of existing systems, provides strategic and operational direction for the functional areas of support, partnering with business and management to determine strategy and roadmaps through effective use of data and technology.

Responsibilities including, but not limited to:

  • Evaluating business processes, anticipating requirements, uncovering areas for improvement, and developing and implementing solutions
  • Leading ongoing reviews of business processes and developing optimization strategies
  • Staying up-to-date on the latest process and IT advancements to automate and modernize systems with the goal of building a state-of-the-art fully integrated ecosystem
  • Analyzing current and future requirements in order to plan LOE, value-add, and then working towards defined enhancement roadmaps
  • Coordinating and leading meetings and presentations to share ideas and findings, and using industry knowledge to recommend innovative technology solutions to improve organizational maturity in Quality Systems, enterprise learning management systems, and the overall Veeva Vault Platform
  • Leading highly visible, complex technology projects, programs or initiatives with authority, expertise and collaboration, helping to define project scope and deliverables to support business goals in concert with senior management stakeholders
  • Liaising with computer system vendors, IT partners, Quality, Validation and business partners to coordinate implementation activities and troubleshooting
  • Assisting in contract negotiations and procurement of technology solutions and services from vendors (e.g., people, services, systems, etc)
  • Managing competing resources, projects, and priorities while monitoring deliverables and ensuring timely completion of projects
  • Accountable for the incident and problem management processes for functional department's platforms, systems, applications, and services
  • Working with business partners and developers, as needed, to mock up, test, and confirm proof of concept changes to existing systems in alignment with internal processes
  • Assisting with license management and user management of multiple systems
  • Performing all activities in compliance with applicable requirements/standards and controls

Technical Requirements & Skills:

  • Minimum 5 years Business System Analyst experience within the Veeva Vault Platform is highly desired (Veeva Quality, Clinical Suite, and/or Veeva RIM/Submissions preferred)
  • At least 3 years prior experience working on validated applications in a pharmaceutical or regulated environment
  • At least 1 year of leadership experience within IT
  • Experience working with technology vendors
  • Experience managing consultants and contractors, in-house and offshore
  • Experience working on SaaS Systems

  • Proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Proven business and technology skills providing customer-oriented technology solutions
  • Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language
  • Collaborative working approach

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Life Sciences, Information Technology, or related discipline with at least 4 years of IT or direct BSA or Veeva Administration/Support Experience
