The Research Associate I, Pharmacology/Toxicology (In Vivo Core) is
to provide hands-on in vivo support to research and development
programs. The RAI should possess a background in science, lab work,
biology or previous experience as a veterinary technician.
Core Lab & Ops: majority of the work requires being in the office
or laboratory either pre, during or post pandemic.
- Help with target and drug discovery efforts at Ultragenyx by
performing in vivo studies across a range of rodent models to
support the advancement of research leads and potential drug
candidates targeting rare and ultra-rare diseases
- Help with in-house breeding, weaning, genotyping, health
surveillance, and help with general oversight of animal
- Keep records of experiments and results
- Provide high-quality data promptly to facilitate data-driven
- Prepare stock chemical solutions, relevant test articles, tube
labeling and other lab tasks as assigned
- Conscience of cost-effective maintenance of supplies and
- Ensure compliance with AUP and IACUC guidelines
- HS Diploma with 1+ years of experience in small animal field or
BS in Science related field with 0 years of relevant
- Animal handling experience to dose rodents, collect blood from
rodents, perform necropsy tissues collections
- High level of enthusiasm and ability to work in teams with some
- Occasional weekend, overtime, and holiday work is required;
requires flexible work schedule to accommodate program
- Must pass Health Surveillance exam at Kaiser and online IACUC
tests before working
