Job Description:

Scientist to join our Systems Services team working at our
corporate office in Novato or our regional office in Rancho
Cordova.
The Data Scientist oversees the collection, storage and
interpretation of data. Works closely with business stakeholders to
understand goals and determine how data can be used to achieve
those goals. Designs data modeling processes, create algorithms and
predictive models to extract the data needed and analyze the data
and share insights with peers.
Essential Job Functions:
* Collect data by analyzing business results or by performing and
managing new studies
* Brainstorm innovative ways to use our unique data to answer
business problems and measure success against targets.
* Extract and understand data from internals core systems and
external manual inputs to derive relevant insights and executive
product health dashboards
* Transfer data into format appropriate for analysis
* Create new, experimental frameworks to collect data
* Build tools to automate data collection
* Perform data mining for usable information to understand industry
tends as well as current and anticipated customer needs
* Create reports and presentations for business use
* Develop visualizations to make complex analyses accessible to a
broad audience
* Correlate similar data to find actionable results and influence
product team through presentation of data-based recommendations
* Work with stakeholders throughout the organization to identify
opportunities for leveraging core data to drive business growth
* Engage in productive discussions with external or internal
stakeholders and synthesize ideas
* Mine and analyze data from company databases to drive
optimization and improvement of product, marketing techniques and
business strategies for the Bank and its clients
* Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources and
data gathering techniques
* Develop custom data models and algorithms to apply to data
sets
* Use predictive modeling to increase and optimize customer
experiences, revenue generation, data insights, advertising
targeting and other business outcomes
* Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model
performance and data accuracy
* Provide guidance in modern analytic techniques and business
applications to unlock the value of core's unique data set, in
keeping with market trends, client needs and emerging
techniques
* Organize and manage multiple data science projects with diverse
cross-functional stakeholders

* Possesses knowledge to adhere to BSA and other compliance
regulations within job function, completes all Bank compliance
training in a timely manner, and keeps up to speed on regulations
as job requires, executes on compliance matters as needed and
adheres to all policies and procedures as required.

* Ability to communicate complex data in a simple, actionable
format
* Ability to visualize data in the most effective method possible
for a given project or study
* Analytical and problem-solving skills
* Experience using statistical computer languages to manipulate
data and draw insights from large data sets
* Experience with machine learning and AI
* Familiarity with data management tools
* Ability to work independently and with team members from
different backgrounds
* Excellent attention to detail
* Broad knowledge across the entire data science lifecycle,
including data engineering, statistics and governance
Professional/Educational Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) or equivalent from four-year college or
technical school; or equivalent combination of education and
experience and/or training
* 3+ years of Data Scientist experience or equivalent experience
working with data
* Practical experience with data analysis and exploration,
especially with diverse data sets
* Ability to apply the latest technologies and methodologies in
machine learning, data mining and predictive analytics to correlate
disparate datasets and events and derive value
* Has proven ability to learn quickly and works well both
independently as well as in a team setting.
The hiring pay range for this position is $80,873 to $119,183. In
addition to the pay range listed, all bank positions are eligible
for incentive compensation, which varies based on role. The pay
rate for a successful applicant depends on a variety of factors
including but not limited to geographic location, work experience,
education, and/or skill level.
